A Madisonville man was arrested on a Christian County warrant Tuesday afternoon in connection with a 2018 murder at a local motel in Hopkinsville, according to a Hopkinsville Police Department release.
Terrance L. Stepp, 31, Madisonville, was arrested at 12:20 p.m. Tuesday while in Madisonville by the Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office on a Christian County indictment warrant for one charge of murder.
The release stated that on March 7, 2018, Tamara Dragoo was found murdered in a local Hopkinsville motel room. HPD collected evidence and interviewed numerous people in the investigation.
After two years, HPD Detective Division were able to identify Stepp as the suspect in the murder and the case was presented to a Christian County grand jury, who concluded there was sufficient evidence in the case to charge Stepp, the release said.
Stepp was arrested and lodged in the Christian County Jail where he is being held on a $1 million bond, the release added.
