Bonnell Ellis, 84, Madisonville, died at 3:05 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 1, 2019, at Lucy Smith King Center in Henderson of natural causes.

Services will be at noon Saturday at Gamble Funeral Home with the Rev. Otis Cunningham officiating.

Burial will be in Foster Gardens in Crofton.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the service hour Saturday at the funeral home.

A native of Christian County, she was born April 13, 1935, the daughter of the late Martin Snorton and Pearl Snorton.

She was a nurse aide at Watkins Nursing Home in Madisonville. She was a member of Princeton Street Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Ellis; two brothers, Sturlin and Reginald Snorton; and two half-brothers, Ozell and Grover Snorton.

Survivors include seven children, Kenneth (Bridget) Ellis, Wylie, Texas, Judith Hutchins and Tena Washington, both of Madisonville, James Ellis Jr. and Martin Ellis, both of Crofton, Sharon Hightower, Central City, and Jennifer (Jesus) Ellis-Ontiveros, Houston; one sister, Elsie Eaves, Madisonville; 13 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
