James Edwards "Pie" Smith, 84, Russellville, died at 4:57 a.m. Tuesday, June 11, 2019, at Logan Memorial Hospital of natural causes.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church.
Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the service hour Saturday at the church. Gamble Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Repast will be at the church.
A native of Logan County, he was born Sept. 3, 1934, the son of the late James E. Smith and Louise Hollins.
He was custodian at Russellville High School.
He was a member of Bank Street A.M.E. Church.
Survivors include his wife, Jearlene Smith, Russellville; three sons, James E. (Paulette) Smith Jr., Jeff (Ashley) Smith and Jerry Smith, all of Russellville; his daughter, Jerrita (Gerra) Buckner, Russellville; his brother, Charles Smith, Louisville; seven sisters, Betty Wells, Nancy (Cliff) Jackson, Tarnda (Andre) Beard, all of Russellville, Gerri Hollins, Janie Hollins, Laverne (James) Sanders and Shirley (Ronald) Leonard, all of Louisville; his step-siblings, the Rev. Harold G. Hollins, the Rev. Irvin Hollins, both of Louisville, and the Rev. Christine Hollins, Chicago; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
