Roy Thomas “Buddy” Cook, 79, Hopkinsville, died at 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 29, 2019 at Bradford Heights Nursing & Rehab Center.

Funeral services were at noon Monday at Hughart, Beard & Giles Funeral Home. Burial followed in Riverside Cemetery.

Visitation was from 10 a.m. until the funeral hour Monday at the funeral home.

A native of Christian County, he was born Aug. 11, 1940, the son of the late John Edward Cook and Lillie Mae Blevins Cook.

He spent his younger days running a pool room on Ninth Street and spent a majority of his life working as a self-employed electrician. He was a longtime member of the CB radio club as well as a longtime member of the rescue squad.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Robert E. Cook; and his sister, Martha Cook Owen.

A survivor is his brother, Walter B. “Sonny” Cook of Hopkinsville.

Memorial contributions are suggested to Pennyroyal Hospice.
