William Wallace “Wally” Bryan Jr., 73, Hopkinsville, died at 3:57 a.m. Thursday, May 14, 2020 at his residence.

Private services will be held with burial to follow in Riverside Cemetery. Hughart, Beard & Giles Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

A public event to honor and remember Wally’s life will be held at a later date.

A native of Hopkinsville, he was born Feb. 21, 1947, the son of the late William Wallace “Bill” Bryan and Linda Wood Bryan.

He was a former mayor of Hopkinsville, former co-owner of Century 21 Town & Country Realtors, former teacher and a founding member of Challenge House.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Keel Bryan; his sons, William Wallace “Will” (Maranda) Bryan III, and David (Brooke) Bryan, both of Hopkinsville; his daughter, Amy Bryan (Dan) Padgett, Bowling Green; his sister, Betty Bryan (Dan) Thomas, Hopkinsville; six grandchildren and one great-grandson.
