Geraldine Stewart, a lifelong resident of Christian County, died May 21, 2020, at Christian Care Community Center of natural causes.

A private family graveside service will be at a later date. Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

She was born July 22, 1933, the daughter of Bedford Forrest and Eleanor Stallons Jones.

She retired from the old Kroger’s on Main Street and later worked for Posey’s Market, the City of Hopkinsville as a receptionist at the municipal building, and as the office manager and a board member of the city sanitation department. She was a member of Edgewood Baptist Church and the Anne Reed Sunday School Class.

She also co-founded and owned Stewart’s Truck Equipment Inc. with her husband.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James A. “Tootie” Stewart; three children, Virginia Kay, James “Rusty” Russell and Donald “Don” Richard; and her brother, J.D. Jones.

Survivors include her son, Gerald David (Jerry) Stewart; and a sister, Brenda (Bill) West, Oxford, Miss.; and one grandson.
