Charles Perry Cunningham, age 89, of Christian County, died at 10:08 p.m. Thursday, January 14, 2021 at Jennie Stuart Health.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 25, 2021 at Hughart, Beard & Giles Funeral Home with Dr. David Gardner and Rev. Kent Workman officiating. Burial will follow in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until the funeral hour Monday. Hughart, Beard & Giles Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. He requested that no ties be worn at his funeral.
A native of Trigg County, he was born January 7, 1932 the son of the late Alfred Perry Cunningham and Maggie Mae Fuller Woods. He was retired civil service having worked in both the plumbing and kitchen equipment divisions. In addition to his civil service, he started several businesses around Hopkinsville. He was also a farmer. He was a Korean War Veteran having served his country in the United States Army.
In addition to his work life he was a Mason, a Shriner, and a Gideon. He was a member of the VFW and the American Legion. He loved the Lord and spent many nights doing Jail Ministry at the Christian County Jail.
Survivors include his wife, Joan Margaret Cunningham; sons, Charles R. “Skip” (Susan) Cunningham, and Bryan Perry Cunningham both of Hopkinsville; and two grandchildren.
