William “Mr. Bill” Whittinghill, 93, Hopkinsville, died at 8:45 a.m. Sunday, June 16, 2019, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

Funeral services will be at 11:30 a.m. Friday at Edgewood Baptist Church with Kirk Kay officiating.

Burial will follow in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the church and Friday after 10:30 a.m. at the church. Hughart, Beard & Giles Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

A native of Midland, he was born Jan. 31, 1926 the son of the late William Joseph Whittinghill and Anna Mae Woodall Whittinghill.

He was the owner and operator of Hopkinsville Sign Company for 45 years. He was a United States Army veteran having served in World War II. He was a founding member of Edgewood Baptist Church where he has sung in the choir since 1956. He was also serving as deacon emeritus at Edgewood Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Geneva Kathryn Abell Whittinghill, and a daughter, Anna Jean Parrish.

Survivors include his daughters, Deborah Whittinghill and Lynda Whittinghill, both of Hopkinsville; his brother, Donald Whittinghill, Greenville; his sister, Barbara Whittinghill, Greenville; six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Edgewood Baptist Church Children’s Ministry, 2300 Cadiz Road, Hopkinsville, KY 42240.
