Sandra Gene Vares, 79, Hopkinsville, died Saturday, Aug. 10, 2019, at her home of natural causes.

A private Celebration of Life Service will be at a later date.

A native of Caro, Michigan, she was born July 11, 1940, the daughter of the late Harold Ray Wilson and Martha Montgomery McGohon.

She was a Methodist by faith. She worked for 22 years as a cashier hostess for Shoney’s in Hopkinsville.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Rosanna Trujillo.

Survivors include two daughters, Tamara (Earl) Behara, Ponca City, Oklahoma, and Martha Smiley Walker (Brian Roskoskey), Hopkinsville; seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Sandra Vares to Pennyroyal Hospice or to a pet rescue of your choice.
