Wallace Wayne Shelton, 81, Hopkinsville, died at 7:53 p.m. Wednesday, July 29, 2020 at the Ray & Kay Eckstein Hospice Care Center in Paducah.

Funeral services will be at noon Monday at Hughart, Beard & Giles Funeral Home with the Rev. Greg Giltner officiating. Burial will follow in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until noon Monday at the funeral home. Hughart, Beard & Giles Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

A native of Hopkinsville, he was born Nov. 23, 1938, the son of the late F.E. Shelton and Luna Wallace Shelton.

He was a chemical lab supervisor with Phelps Dodge Magnet Wire Corporation, a member and deacon at Hillcrest Baptist Church and a veteran of the United States Navy, having served as a corpsman with the 2nd Marine Air Wing.

Survivors include his wife, Anna Keller Shelton; daughters, Julie (Steve) Ellis, Hopkinsville, Jennifer Shelton, Mebane, NC; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Memorials may take the form of donations to Gideons International.
