Walter Moore

Walter Thomas “Walt” Moore, age 78, of Pembroke, passed away on Friday, Oct. 23, 2020, at Jennie Stuart Health of natural causes.

Funeral Services will be at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 27, 2020 at Maddux Funeral Home, Pembroke with Rev. Carl Suddeath officiating and burial to follow in Rawlins Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until the funeral hour at 2 p.m. at Maddux Funeral Home, Pembroke. Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

He was born on March 25, 1942, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to the late Robert Isaac and Ann Francis Moore. He retired from Superior Graphite, after 20 years, as an Off Gas Foreman; and had previously worked at Elk Brand Manufacturing for 20 years. He served in the United States Army and also served in the Army National Guard. He was a member of Pembroke Church of Christ.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by three brothers, Harry Moore and Frank Moore and George “Bud” Moore.

Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Norene Lancaster Moore of Pembroke; his two sons, Walter Jeffrey (Clarissa) Moore of Bowling Green, Kentucky, Patrick Otho (Macy) Moore of Clarksville; two daughters, Tammy (Danny) Stratton and Kellen Francis both of Hopkinsville; two brothers, Robert Moore and Jess Moore both of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; 11 grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in his honor to the Z.T. Rawlins Cemetery Fund.
