Sarah Elizabeth Townsend, 21, of Farmville VA, died Friday, March 26, 2021, in Calloway County, Kentucky.

A celebration of life ceremony will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 7, 2021 at Holiday Lake 4-H Center, Appomattox, VA with Rev. Lyndsie Blakely and Rev.Rick Caldwell officiating. Interment will be private. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. April 6, 2021, at Puckett Funeral Home. Puckett Funeral Home in Farmville is in charge of the arrangements.

A native of Farmville, Virginia, she was born on January 27, 2000, the daughter of Scott Townsend and Melissa Coleman.

Sarah was a graduate of Prince Edward County High School, and Southside Virginia Community College Dual Enrollment Program. She was a junior at Murray State University, where she was studying pre-veterinary medicine, she wanted to specialize in large animal medicine. Throughout her school career, Sarah was involved in Girl Scouts and various 4-H programs. In high school, Sarah played volleyball, she enjoyed photography, was a part of the National Honor Society and she was a member of the FFA. She volunteered as a counselor in training at Holiday Lake 4-H Center and eventually served as a camp counselor after high school.

She is survived by her father Scott (Jenny) Townsend, Farmville, VA; mother, Melissa Coleman; brother, Samuel; maternal grandfather, Clarence Coleman, Farmville, VA; maternal grandmother, Betty Coleman, Farmville, VA; uncle Charlie Coleman; paternal grandparents, James Colonel, and Brenda Townsend, Farmville, VA, and Lynn Hazelrigg, Hopkinsville, KY; paternal great-grandmother, Elizabeth Townsend, Farmville, VA; uncle Julian Hazelrigg; and great-aunt Jana Hazelrigg.
