James Welborne, 76 of Guthrie, died Sunday, Sept. 13 at Creekwood Place in Russellville of natural causes.

A celebration of life

will be at 5 p.m. Saturday at the Cook-Webb Funeral Home, Guthrie, with G.C. Morrow officiating. Visitation will be from 3 p.m. until the services Saturday at the funeral home.

Due to the coronavirus, capacity will be limited. Those attending the service or visitation must wear a mask and refrain from shaking hands and hugging and keep six feet apart for social distancing.

Welborne was born Aug. 23, 1944 in Drakesboro, the son of the late A.D. Nelson and Margaret Welborne Moore. He was a farmer and retired from Paul Young’s farm where he worked for more than 30 years. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a son James Dale Welborne and two brothers Robert Earl and Charles Douglas Moore.

Survivors include his wife Betty Sue Welborne of Guthrie; three sons Ronnie Gene (Misty) Welborne of Guthrie; Timmy Lee (Lisa) Welborne of Adams, Tenn., and Jeffery Eugene (Kim) Welborne of Clarksville, Tenn.; a sister Sheila Ann (Travis) Thompson of Russellville; seven grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.
