Elizabeth “Bettie June” Bassett Clark, 86, of Hopkinsville died at 1:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 7, 2019, at Christian Health Center.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2019, at Hughart, Beard & Giles Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. Tim Jernigan officiating. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from noon until the funeral hour at the funeral home. Hughart, Beard & Giles Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

A native of Hopkinsville, Kentucky she was born July 14, 1933, the daughter of the late Frank Houston Bassett Jr. and Sara Belle McPherson Bassett.

She was a member of First Baptist Church where she served as a Sunday School teacher for over 30 years.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Dr. Frank Houston Bassett III.

Survivors include her husband, Wayne Clark; her son, Mason (Theresa) Clark of Hopkinsville; her daughter, Sally (Joe) Clark Hach of Nashville; and her grandchildren.

Betty June was one of my favorite people on earth. Whenever I visited my mom (Barbara Cornette Taylor), I would always look forward to visiting her and Wayne. Heaven has gained another precious angel.
