James E. McCallister, 77, of Dawson Springs and formerly of Princeton, died on Thursday, February 18, 2021 at the Dawson Springs Nursing and Rehab in Dawson Springs, Kentucky of natural causes.

The family chose cremation. There will be a memorial service on a later date.

He was born April 21, 1943 in Princeton, Kentucky the son of the late Alex Jefferson and Darlis Hester McAlister.

He was Baptist by faith.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Kay Bratcher McCallister; son, Jimmy McCallister and brothers, Joe Carroll McAlister, and Jackie McAlister.

He is survived by a son, Jeffery McCallister of Paducah; brother, Charles McAlister of Princeton; four grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
