Coach Eric Deron “PD” Davie, 37, died, Sunday, April 18, 2021 at University of Louisville Hospital, Louisville, Kentucky.
Service will be at 12:00 noon Saturday, May 1, 2021 at Christian County High School with the Rev. Steve Carter officiating. Burial will be in Green Hill Memorial Gardens. There will be a Walk Thru visitation Saturday, 10:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. at the High School. Gamble Funeral Home is in Charge of Arrangements.
A native of Christian County, he was born September 13, 1983 to Tracey Davie Carter, Hopkinsville, KY and the late Grafton “GD” Bailey.
Eric was a member of Gainesville Baptist Church. He was employed as Assistant Basketball Coach for Doss High School, Louisville, KY. He also coached for the Louisville Magic and the Kentucky Hoops. He was and umpire for the (USSSA) United States Specialist Sports Association and a member of the (KHSAA) Kentucky High School Athletic Association.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Bailey Davie, Corrine and Robert Elam.
In addition to his mother, Tracey (Rev. Steve) Carter, he is survived by his wife, Ambere Davie, Louisville, KY; four children, Derion Davie, Louisville, KY, Emarion Davie, Hopkinsville, KY, Desmond Davie and Austin Davie, Alexandria, KY. Step-children, Kayleb Bruck, Jayden Chavis, Aaliyah “Pooh” Chavis, Louisville, KY. Three siblings, Ashley Davie, Ft. Knox, KY; Deontey (NorKeisha) Kenner, Donielle (Antonio) Poindexter, Hopkinsville, KY; and one grandchild.
