Dennis Paul Thomas, 72, of Hopkinsville, died Wednesday, April 15, 2020 at his residence following a long illness.

Services with military honors will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 2, 2020 at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West. Dogwood Funerals & Cremations of Hopkinsville is in charge of the arrangements.

A native of Hanford, California he was born June 23, 1947 the son of the late Frank Thomas and Juanita Thomas Hewson. In 1991 he retired as a Command Sergeant Major after 30 years of service to the United States Army. He was a member and former post commander for V.F.W. Post 1913 in Hopkinsville, KY.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister, Kathryn Hirahoka.

Survivors include his wife of 53 years: Faye Walker Thomas; his sons: John Paul (Debbie) Thomas of Florida and Rodney (Kelly) Thomas of Hopkinsville, KY; his brothers: John (Deborah) Thomas of Center Strafford, New Hampshire and Ronald (Dot) Thomas, Sr. of Orlando, FL; his grandchildren: Megan Wise, Travis Scot Thomas, Lindsey Thomas, and Whitnie Thomas all of Hopkinsville, KY and Joseph Esgro of St. Cloud, FL; and his great grandson: Everett Wise.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1913, Attn: Commander John Brame.
