Janie Renshaw Houchins

Janie Renshaw Houchins, 78, of Crofton, Kentucky died at 11:30 p.m. Sunday, May 24, 2020 at her home.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, May 27, 2020 at Ridgetop Cemetery in Crofton Kentucky with the Rev. Rick Loader officiating. Burial will follow in Ridgetop Cemetery. Dogwood Funerals & Cremations of Crofton is in charge of arrangements.

A native of Crofton, Kentucky, she was born on July 22, 1941 the daughter of the late William Renshaw and Ruby Martin Renshaw.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Phrone Warfield and Naomi Shelton.

She was a clerk for Dr. Norma T. Shepherd for over 15 years and at Central Tool & Die for several years and then worked in the shipping department at Freudenberg until she retired.

She was a member and Diaconate at Crofton Christian Church where she was a choir member, was active with the youth and served on several committees.

Survivors include her sons, Dwayne “Skeets” (Debbie) Houchins of Crofton, and Kevin “Hootie” (Kim) Houchins of Crofton; her daughter, Chris (Kirk) Dulin of Crofton; her brother, Willie Renshaw of Hopkinsville; her sisters, Ann (Estell) Dunlap of Crofton and Nancy Rogers of Crofton; her brother-n-law, James Warfield of Hopkinsville, eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Memorials may take the form of donations to Pennyroyal Hospice, 220 Burley Ave., Hopkinsville, KY 42240.
