Karen Gressett Sholar, 72, Cadiz, died at 7:04 p.m. Friday, Aug. 9, 2019, at Ray and Kay Eckstein Hospice Care Center in Paducah of natural causes.

Services were at noon Monday at Goodwin Funeral Home Inc. and the Rev. Perry Alexander officiated.

Burial will be at Jones Cemetery in Trigg County.

Visitation was from 10 a.m. to the service hour Monday at the funeral home.

A native of Cadiz, she was born Dec. 10, 1946, the daughter of the late Weldon Gressett and Billie Lou Ross Gressett.

After working 30 years, Karen retired in 2002 as the housekeeping supervisor at the Lake Barkley State Park. She was a member of Oakland United Methodist Church in Trigg County.

Survivors include her husband, Richard Earl Sholar, Cadiz; her son, Terry Lee (Rebecca) Hendon, Princeton; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
