Howard “Bud” Sims, 76, Crofton, died at 11:35 p.m. Tuesday, July 28, 2020 at Ahava Healthcare in Clarksville, Tennessee.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Hughart, Beard & Giles Funeral Home with the Rev. Rick Hatley officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hill Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be held Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Hughart, Beard & Giles Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

He was born July 18, 1944, in Plainview, Texas, the son of the late Howard Sims and Emmie Daily Sims.

He was a retired first sergeant in the United States Army and went on to work in civil service for 18 years. He was also a member of the VFW and Crofton Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his sister, Lucy Malone.

Survivors include his wife, Elly Sims; son, Michael Edward, Whitehouse, Tennessee; daughter, Cathleen Newton, Clarksville, Tennessee; sister, Hazel Crawford, Kent, Washington; three grandchildren and a great-grandson.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Building Fund at Crofton Baptist Church, 155 College St. Crofton, KY 42217.
