Steve Collins, 67, of Hopkinsville, died at 1:05 a.m. Wednesday, November 10, 2021 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville.

Funeral services will be 4 p.m. Sunday, November 14, 2021, at First Christian Church with the Rev. Wade Miller officiating. Visitation will be Sunday from 2 p.m. until the funeral hour at the church. Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Monday, November 15, 2021, at Haven Hill Cemetery in Columbia. Hughart, Beard & Giles Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

A native of Columbia, he was born February 15, 1954 the son of the late James R. “Bob” Collins and Ramona Grant Collins. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree from the G.M. Institute now known as Kettering University. He had served as Alumni President for the Kettering University Alumni Association. He went on to earn his Master’s of Business Administration from the University of Kentucky and became a lifetime member of the University of Kentucky Alumni Association. He was a retired Sales Administrator for General Motors having spent over 37 years with the company. While working for GM he served as head of Buick Golf for two years. He was a member of First Christian Church.

Survivors include his brother, David (Trish) Collins of Hopkinsville; his nephew, Brian D. (Heather) Collins of Hopkinsville; and his niece, Laura Collins (Matt) Gabbard of Little Rock, Ark.

Memorial contributions are suggested to First Christian Church or the American Cancer Society.
