Jarod Thomas Cherry, age 76, of Elmo Road, passed away on Friday, Sept. 6, 2019, at his home of natural causes.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Sept. 9, 2019, at Salem Baptist Church with the Rev. Jonathan Arvin officiating. Burial to follow in Rosedale Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Monday at Salem Baptist Church. A Masonic service will follow the visitation until the funeral hour at 2 p.m. Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

A Pembroke, Kentucky, native, he was born Sept. 21, 1942, to the late Thomas and Blanche Rafferty Cherry.

He was a member of Salem Baptist Church where he was a deacon. He was a farmer and a member of the Oak Grove Masonic Lodge.

Survivors include his wife of three years, Janie J. Harris-Cherry, of Pembroke; his daughter, Jada (Mark) Sager, of Alexandra, Virginia; his two stepdaughters, Ruth (Lucius) Hawes, of Hopkinsville, Sherry Byerline of Pembroke; one sister, June Schreiner, of Mobile, Alabama; his three grandchildren; and his five great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in his honor to either Pennyroyal Hospice or Salem Baptist Church.
