Philip L. Horn Sr., 80, of Hopkinsville, Kentucky died at 6:40 a.m., Thursday, May 13, 2021 at Alive Hospice in Nashville, Tennessee.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, May 15, 2021 at Riverside Cemetery. Hughart, Beard & Giles Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

A native of Nashville, Tennessee he was born on October 1, 1940 the son of the late Wiley Weathers Horn, Sr. and Mary Gordon Horn.

In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his wife, Linda Foard Horn and his brothers, Robert Gordon Horn and Wiley Weathers Horn Jr.

He was a pharmacist having owned and operated Thrifty Drugs, Save More Drugs, Woods Drug Store and Clinic Pharmacy all in Hopkinsville. He owned the local Jersey Mike’s Subs and Papa John’s Pizza Franchises was on the original Board of Trustees at University Heights Academy, a former member of the Hopkinsville Jaycees and a member of First United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his sons, Philip L. (Caroline) Horn Jr. of Charleston, S.C., and Jeffrey Lee (Leslie) Horn of Hopkinsville, KY; daughter, Courtney Amanda (Shane) Embry of Myers Flat, CA; and seven grandchildren.

Memorials may take the form of donations to the giver’s favorite charity.
