Aug. 14, 2019, in the Kentucky New Era Opinion page there were three articles titled "Laws Can't Target Heart, Soul Issues," "Knowing Freedom Critical To Our Future," and "Red Flag Laws Universal Background Checks Could Help Us Curb Violence."

I agree with all of these articles and the points they expand on. Heart, Soul issues (evil), not knowing the freedoms critical to our future -- Constitutional and Bill of Rights --, congress paying attention to laws that are protecting people's rights while providing physical protection.

In my opinion I see a common thread in the articles leading to two entities that are to share in the shame and blame, "education system" and the "church." One is to teach the United States Constitution and what it means, the other is to teach the only identity that can cure the heart of evil, GOD!

If you do not know what has been sacrificed in creating the document that speaks of rights and the idea of rights, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, how can you defend and protect them just as every person joining any branch of government service has to take an oath to do?

If you do not know that there is a cure for evil in your heart and soul, can you be cured of evil actions such as mass murders? Sad to say, but no law -- no matter how strict -- will not stop a person from breaking them. Look at crime statistics and how people drive their automobiles. Each has laws governing them but still you hear and see people break them, for they have no driving force to keep them in check.

For those who do not believe in a God that loves them and wants the best for them by changing their heart, I pray it will not be too late for them to learn the truth. There is a God and a heaven and hell. I do not know about you but I'd rather not spend eternity in hell when I have a chance to spend it in heaven with peace and tranquility. The choice is yours.
