While the high school golf season is still a long way away, area golfers are hitting the links this summer, including play in the Go Junior Golf Series.
Monday's stop was at Hopkinsville Golf and Country Club with several locals earning top-two finishes.
Trigg County's Hunter Reynolds cruised to a victory in the boys' 13-15 division with a 77. Reynolds is coming off a KHSAA State Tournament appearance and was the only golfer Monday to finish in the 70s.
Christian County's Micah Smith and Hopkinsville's Evan Pyle each finished with an 89 in the division.
Hopkins County Central's Trae Barber won the boys' 16-18 division with an 80 while University Heights Academy's Jiles Wyatt took second with an 81. Hopkinsville's James Folz carded an 86.
In the girls' 16-18 division, Christian County's Hannah Sumner finished second with an 86 as she beat teammate Bridget Owens in a scorecard playoff.
Hopkinsville's Cate Blane took second in the girls' 13-15 division with an 87. In the girls' 13-15 nine-hole division, Anna Fort finished second with a 53.
Hopkinsville native Campbell Lindsey won the girls' 9-10 division with a 39 to win by two shots over Ellie Hightower. Allie Sandifer finished third with a 42.
In the girls' 8-under division, Emma Hightower carded a 22.
The series' next event is today at Windward Heights Country Club in Hawesville then Thursday at Central City Country Club.
The Southern Series Championship will be July 11 at Western Hills.
