Moss, Hoptown blank Lyon
Abby Moss continued her hot start to the season, scoring four goals as she led the Hopkinsville Lady Tigers to a 5-0 win over Lyon County on Monday night.
Moss has scored eight goals in three games and has a goal in every one of the Lady Tigers’ games this season.
Morgan Woosley scored the other goal for Hoptown. Grasen Givens and Allison Wood each had two assists and Woosley had one as well. Vy Nguyen recorded the clean sheet in goal.
The Lady Tigers move to 2-1 on the year and will be back on the pitch at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday against Christian County.
UHA falls in five to Madisonville
The University Heights Academy Lady Blazers fell in five sets on Monday night to Madisonville-North Hopkins (22-25, 25-20, 25-11, 15-25, 15-5).
Julia Thomas led the Lady Blazers with 12 kills. Evelyn Morales finished with eight kills, Beth Peebles had five kills, Jaila Baity added four kills and Olivia Oakly finished with two kills.
Peebles topped UHA with 23 assists and Alison Bullen finished with a team-high 15 digs in the loss.
UHA falls to 1-1 on the year and will return to action at 7 p.m. on Tuesday against Christian County.
Trigg swept by Crittenden
The Trigg County Lady Wildcats fell in straight sets on Monday night to Crittenden County in Cadiz (25-11, 25-19, 25-15).
Trigg sits at 0-3 on the year and will be back in action at 5:30 p.m. next Monday against Murray.
