After leading for three quarters on Tuesday night, Christian County couldn’t close out Henderson County, falling by one point on the road.

The Christian County Colonels led for the majority of their contest on Tuesday night but the young team is still trying to learn how to win those close games.

Henderson County’s largest lead of the night was just one point but that point was all it needed as it escaped Christian County 36-35 in Henderson.

County came out strong defensively to start the game and led 9-4 after one quarter of play.

While Henderson was much improved in the second, it was the Colonels from the south leading 19-18 at the break.

County had the lead after three quarters as well, being just eight minutes away from the win and some momentum in the Second Region.

However, Tyler Smithhart’s bunch dug deep to come from behind to escape with a one-point win.

County drops to 4-9 with the loss and will play three teams from Indiana on Friday and Saturday at Harrison High School in Tennessee this weekend.
