The Christian County and Hopkinsville winter sports programs will finally be able to compete starting next week.

Christian County Public Schools greenlit in-person instruction in the schools starting on Tuesday night, also allowing athletes to begin their winter seasons on Monday, two weeks after the original start date.

CCPS delayed its return to in-person learning two weeks due to a high number of COVID-19 cases in the county, suspending the beginning of the winter season for the Colonel and Tiger programs just before it was set to begin.

Christian County and Hopkinsville both have contests scheduled on Monday evening, with both girls’ basketball teams in action to begin their seasons.
