WKU Hilltoppers players take the field to warm-up prior to Saturday's home game

Members of the WKU Hilltoppers take the field to warm-up prior to Saturday’s home game against the University of North Texas Mean Green at Houchens-Smith Stadium in Bowling Green.

The Western Kentucky University Hilltoppers (5-4) hosted the University of North Texas Mean Green (5-4) Saturday afternoon at Houchens-Smith Stadium in Bowling Green in front of 17,194 spectators as the Hilltoppers searched for their third straight victory but fell 40-13.

The Mean Green won the coin toss and elected to defer to the second half, meaning WKU would receive the first half kickoff. But the Hilltoppers couldn’t get anything going on their first possession going three and out. On the Mean Green’s next drive, they’d find the end zone with 11:39 to go on a 28-yard pass from Austin Aune to Kaylon Horton with Ethan Mooney converting the PAT for a 7-0 lead over Hilltoppers.
