Boy’s soccer Bryan explodes as UHA wins All-A Second Region University Heights Academy senior Will Bryan tallied six goals and one assist as he led the Blazers to a 7-0 victory over Lyon County on Friday afternoon, winning the All-A Second Region Championship.

The lone goal not scored by Bryan was scored by senior Connor Dill late in the second half.

Bryan scored four minutes into the game and never looked back.

UHA grabs its first win of the year and will be back in action at 7 p.m. Tuesday against Trigg County.

Girl’s soccer Lady Blazers win All-A Second Region crown Grace Pape and Kate Cansler each scored four goals as the University Heights Academy Lady Blazers defeated Crittenden County 9-0 to win the All-A Second Region Championship on Friday.

Along with Pape and Cansler, it was Addi Fourqurean with the tally.

UHA will return to action at 5:30 p.m. Monday to face Ohio County.

Football County comes from behind to beat Madisonville The Christian County Colonels put week one behind them very quickly as they came from behind to defeat Madisonville-North Hopkins, 28-20, in Madisonville on Friday night.

L’Ray Coleman had an explosive night for the Colonels in the win. Coleman carried the ball 23 times and rushed for 210 yards in the win.

Donta Abren was 6-of-11 with 47 yards through the air.

The Colonels grab their first win since the 2018 football season and it will be a battle of the unbeaten next weekend when Christian County and Hopkinsville face off at the Stadium of Champions.

Todd County outlasts Hopkins Central The Josh Robins era in Elkton got off to a good start Friday night as the Todd County Central Rebels defeated Hopkins County Central 42-39.

Todd County is 1-0 on the year and will return to action at 7 p.m. next week against Caverna.
