Hoppers

Hoptown's Cam Barlow throws a pitch against the Muhlenberg County Stallions on Tuesday night at Tiger Field.

The Hoptown Hoppers scored 16 runs in the final four innings of the game to defeat the Muhlenberg County Stallions 18-12 on Tuesday night at Tiger Field.

Muhlenberg had a 3-2 lead after three innings, but the onslaught of runs was yet to come.

The Stallions held a 4-2 advantage heading into the sixth frame. Hoptown, the away team on the scoreboard, used a combination of hits, walks and Muhlenberg County errors to rally across seven runs to take a 9-4 lead.

However, the Stallions score four runs in the bottom half to keep the score close.

A second scoring spree from the Hoppers re-extended the Hoppers lead. Nine players crossed home, giving Hoptown an 18-8 lead heading into the bottom of the eighth.

Muhlenberg scored four runs in the bottom of the eighth, but the deficit was too steep to overcome, as the Hoppers came away with the win.

Hoptown grabbed its 18th win of the year and will play again at 7:05 p.m. tomorrow night against Owensboro at home.
