The Trigg County Wildcats middle school football team (7-3) is seeing a lot of success this season as they get set for Saturday’s Region One Championship game against Campbellsville Middle School with kickoff set for 5 p.m.

In their first-round game, the Wildcats won 22-12 over Metcalfe County. Assistant coach King Williams said they’re excited and looking forward to it. Williams said in order to be successful and come out with the win, they have to stick to and maintain the fundamentals. He credited their current success to a mix of coaching and team camaraderie and wanting to be there for each other, be something different and change the culture. In their semifinal road game against Russellville on Saturday Oct. 22 they came away with a 40-26 victory.
