While there aren't as many games this week, a big portion of the week will be about the Second Region All "A" Classic tournament. The University Heights Academy Lady Blazers played their opener Monday while the boys' team plays at 7 p.m. tonight at Crittenden County against the Rockets.

The Hopkinsville Tigers have another long week while Christian County heads to McCracken County tonight.

On the girls' side, Trigg County hosts Madisonville-North Hopkins Thursday in a matchup of two of the top teams in the region.

Here's a look at the area teams' top games this week.

TodayBBK: University Heights Academy (7-8) in All "A" Classic 2nd Region Tournament

The University Heights Academy Blazers are coming off of their best week of the season after they took down district foes Hopkinsville and Christian County last week. The Blazers' start their attempt to back-to-back All "A" Classic state titles with a 7 p.m. matchup with Crittenden County in Marion. A win would set-up a potential matchup with Lyon County Friday at Livingston Central in the semifinals.

BBK: Christian County(6-9) at McCracken County(14-4), 7:30 p.m.

Colonels would love to bounce back with a win over First Region power McCracken County. The Cols have had different players step up throughout this season but they'll need a group effort to take down the Mustangs.

BBK: Northeast (TN) at Hopkinsville (7-9), 7:30 p.m.

The Tigers are also coming off of a loss to UHA but Hopkinsville has been trending upward with its play as of late. Don Victor and Arthur McKnight have been leading the Tigers and if the duo continues, Hoptown could surprise some Second Region teams in the next few weeks.

GBK: Northeast (TN) at Hopkinsville (8-7), 6 p.m.

Anthony Babb and the Hopkinsville Lady Tigers grabbed a big Eighth District win Friday at UHA but a win Tuesday sets up a long stretch for Hoptown. After Northeast, they close out the month with Hopkins County Central, Graves County, Christian County, Henderson County and another game with UHA on Jan. 31.

ThursdayGBK: Madisonville-North Hopkins (16-0) at TriggCounty (14-3), 6 p.m.

The Madisonville-North Hopkins Lady Maroons are the only undefeated girls' team in the state and Thursday they'll head to Trigg County to take on the Lady Wildcats. TCHS is coming off of a 51-31 loss to Calloway County Sunday to snap a long winning streak, but Cory Coble and company are ready to start a new streak.

Friday

BBK: Hopkins County Central (1-13) at Trigg County (7-8), 7:30 p.m.

The Trigg County Wildcats fell to Calloway County Sunday in the Section 1 final of the Kentucky 2A Championship but Chad Burgett and his young crew still have a lot to prove. The last time the Wildcats and Storm met, it took overtime for Trigg County to grab a victory.

BBK: Hopkinsville (7-9) at Webster County (13-2), 7:30 p.m.

A few weeks ago, the Webster County Trojans beat the Tigers in Dixon but that was back when the Trojans didn't have any losses. Now, Webster County has two and is ready for another battle with Hoptown.
