VOLLEYBALLLady Blazers take 5th in Silver at Quad State
The University Heights Academy Blazers went 2-1 in pool play then finished fifth in the Silver Bracket at Quad State in Paducah last weekend.
The Lady Blazers fell to Owensboro Catholic but beat Calloway County and Germantown (TN) to earn their spot in the Silver Bracket Saturday morning.
UHA fell to St. Agnes Academy (TN) 2-1 in a tough battle as it was sent to the consolation bracket. UHA rebounded and beat Christian Fellowship and Clinton County to take fifth.
The Lady Blazers play at 6 p.m. Thursday at home against Apollo.
Lady Tigers competeat JCIV Tournament
The Hopkinsville Lady Tigers hit the road last weekend and competed in the JCIV Tournament.
The Lady Tigers fell to DuPont Manual and Christian Academy-Louisville on Friday. Hope Pace has 11 kills Friday to lead Hoptown as Chandler Adams has 18 digs.
On Saturday, Hoptown fell to Central but beat Madison Central.
Hoptown plays Friday against McLean County in the Best of the West Tournament at Owensboro.
BOYS SOCCERTrigg Countywalks past Lyon
The Trigg County Wildcats took care of business on Monday defeating Lyon County 6-0 in the Fifth District Championship.
The victory gives the Wildcats back-to-back district titles as they now await their opponent in the 2nd Region Tournament.
Hopkins Centralbests Caldwell
The Hopkins County Central Storm defeated Caldwell County 3-1 on Monday to clinch a spot in the Second Region Tournament.
Hopkins Central will play Madisonville-North Hopkins for the Seventh District Championship at 7:30 p.m. tonight.
GIRLS SOCCERLyon County shutsout Crittenden
The Lyon County Lady Lyons secured a spot in the Second Region Tournament with a 4-0 win over Crittenden County on Monday night.
Lyon will play Trigg County for the Fifth District Championship at 6 p.m. tonight.
Webster blowsout Union County
The Webster County Lady Trojans dominated Union County on Monday night, taking home a 9-0 win and securing a spot on the Second Region Tournament.
Webster will face Henderson County for the Sixth District title at 5:30 p.m. tonight.
Caldwell defeats Hopkins Central in penalties
It took penalty kicks, but Caldwell County moved onto the Seventh District Championship game with a 2-1 win over Hopkins County Central on Monday night.
The Lady Tigers have secured their spot in the Second Region Tournament and will face Madisonville-North Hopkins at 5:30 p.m. for the Seventh District Championship.
