CSX Railroad plans to CLOSE a section of KY 109/Bradshaw Road southeast of Hopkinsville in CHRISTIAN County starting Tuesday, October 2, 2018.

KY 109/Bradshaw Road will be closed to through traffic at milepoint 10.3 between US 41/Pembroke Road and the US 68-Bypass at the southeast edge of Hopkinsville to allow rail work through a crossing.  This closure on KY 109/Bradshaw Road is just south of the Katie Peden Drive intersection.

The rail crossing at this site is expected to close at approximately 7:00 a.m., CDT, on October 2nd.   CSX estimates the roadway at this site is likely to remain closed for about 2 to 3 days.

There will be no marked detour.  Local access will be maintained on each side of the closure.  Motorists may self-detour via the US 68-Bypass and US 41/Pembroke Road.

Once work is completed on KY 109/Bradshaw Road, CSX plans rail crossing work at various locations through Hopkinsville in coming weeks.  CSX will provide a specific schedule of planned rail crossing closures as the start date firms up.

The CSX rail crew will be working a 9 days on and 5 days off.  The gang anticipates working their way into Hopkinsville starting approximately October 8th.  CSX will attempt to complete work on as many crossings as possible by the time their rotation ends on October 10th. The next rotation would start on October 16th with the CSX track crew working until October 24th.

Again, a more specific schedule of specific crossing closures will be forthcoming as the schedule firms up sometime after October 2nd.

CSX is working with the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet and local agencies to maintain traffic connections during the coming track work.
