A Hopkinsville man was shot and treated just before 4 a.m. Sunday at Jennie Stuart Medical Center. That same day, another Hopkinsville man was found dead according to a Hopkinsville police press release.
Officers were called to JSMC at around 4 a.m., where Damion Lane, 39, was dropped off with a gunshot wound to his lower back. Lane was treated and released, the release stated.
A short time later officers were called to a home on East Second Street in reference to William McAllister, 26, who was reportedly laying unresponsive in the front yard of the home.
When police arrived, they found McAllister unresponsive and not breathing. The Coroner pronounced him dead at the scene. The cause of death is unknown at this time.
Detectives are still currently working to determine if the two incidents are related. HPD has no leads on possible suspects at this time.
