Kentucky State Police Post 2 in Madisonville is investigating a fatal collision in Oak Grove that killed a 5-year-old girl and injured an 11-year-old girl.
According to the release from KSP, Oak Grove Police Department contacted state police to investigate the collision around 4:55 p.m. Friday.
Preliminary investigation revealed two female juveniles, ages 5 and 11, were attempting to cross Pembroke Oak Grove Road, around the 700 block, when they stepped into the path of a 1992 Dodge Dakota pickup towing a trailer. The operator of the Dodge was Wanda Sydnor, 63, Russellville.
Both juveniles were transported by EMS to Blanchfield Army Community Hospital in Fort Campbell. The 11-year-old is being treated for injuries she received to her legs. The 5-year-old was pronounced dead at the hospital.
MarQuana DeWayne' McClure, 5, was identified by family.
The investigation is ongoing by Accident Reconstructionist Trooper Hunter Carroll.
KSP were assisted at the scene by Oak Grove Police Department, Christian County Coroner’s Office, Oak Grove EMS, Christian County Emergency Management and Oak Grove Fire Department, the release states.
