Meat-ing the need

A line forms Thursday morning outside Hampton Meats on Pembroke Road as customers wait to be let in to purchase meat. Owner Ernie Hampton said because of the new social distancing rules, up to 10 customers are allowed inside at a time. “We’ve been using a ticket number system for years, but we’ve just brought it outside,” he said. One customer who stood in the line said the wait wasn’t bad and it was organized. Hampton said he doubts they will run out of meat, but there is a 5-pound limit on ground beef per customer.
